Finished my new build and just wondered about a few temps. My CPU (e6600 on a asus p5be mobo) is running @ 110f with a zerotherm copper heatsink/fan with Arctic Silver 5, my PSU is @ 108f, and my case temp with all fans maxed is 112f. how do these sound ?

We like to do temps in Celsius here so here are what your temps are in Celsius:

CPU: 43.3c
PSU: 42.2c
Case: 44.4c

Now what are you ding while there ate these temps? Is it under full load?

they dont sound good if its idle

id check your HSF

They aren't that bad in Celsius

Keep in mind that the thermal paste (AS5) takes a little while to set, and initial temps will be warmer than after it sets, which takes about a couple of weeks. Your temps aren't that bad, a bit on the warm side, but like I said, just wait and see what happens.

temp

those temps are at idle from speedfan, have not checked the bios temps yet, also the artic silver 5 does take a few weeks to set in, with my fans turned to 100% for awhile my cpu from speedfan is 105f, 40c. at what temp does it shut itself down or what temp should i start to worry?

?

i wonder if it matters that on my cpu heatsink/fan the fan is pointing down towards my video card, which is up in the top slot, leaving @ 5 inches between them, maybe i should turn the cooler 180 so the fan points up. i think it should be pointed toward the rear 2 exhaust fans but the heatsink on my chipset gets in the way and wont allow.

45

well i looked again and i was able to turn 45 degrees so fan points towards the rear exhaust fans, but fans are not puttinf much air, i can barely feel them on my hand when put behind there. i read someone in a review on newegg say the fans in my case are weak. maybe i need to replace the fans?

What kind of case and PSU do you have, I think airflow is the key concern here considering the temps inside the case. Mine right now are as follows.

33c in case
30c cpu and thats with F@H running (50%-60% cpu useage.)

case

i have a gigabyte aurora full tower case, right now case is 35 and cpu is 41, temps seem to be coming down since i fixed the fan on the cpu cooler to blow towards the rear fans and when i took fan off to move it, i noticed that i used too much arctic silver5, so when i reinstalled i used a lot less, i heard too much as5 is almost as bad as none at all. like i said before new fans are on the way and also give the as5 time to set up.

k

i know, i started the computer with the side open and while it was spinning i touch the edge with a piece of paper to check direction. it is pulling air in and blowing it back across the heatsink and towards the rear 2 fans in my case.
