Best Processor>Multi-tasking?

What is the best multi-tasking processor? I am doing some updates and a building a PC for a local business that uses scheduling programs(quickbooks) and has to go find files for a customer's history. What would be best? It needs to be budgeted, too.

whats the budget? definately a C2D though, so as high as you can get in the budget and in that line. E6600 if it fits

The E6600 is a great processor, but there are others to think about as well. When will you be buying this computer? The E6320 and E6420 both have 4MB of cache, which virtually nullifies any incentive to go with the E6600.

thats exactly right too. it depends on how soon you need the PC. early may would be the optimal time to buy any PC in my mind

Xeon or Opteron would be the best for multi tasking or maybe some PPC based chip from IBM if you wanted to run like a sparc station or what not, but I can only assume this is for windows so PPC based solutions would be out of the question.

Who knows, get a cell processor from IBM. They already have them in their blade servers, then again that is way too expensive.

##EDIT

Didn't see the "budget" part, ignore my post
