Photoshop.

I need a good free photoshop program for making banners for sites and photoshopping pictures.

Gimpshop got confusing, doesnt mean i wont use it...

Macromedia Fireworks, I use it!

its not free though...

Gimp is the closest free thing you will get to photoshop. It is very capable if you take the time to learn it. www.gimptalk.com has a lot of good info on it.

I've tried these before but none are as good as gimp.
