Desktop icons issue

I've searched websites to try and find the solution of this, but can't.

I had a bad spyware infection "Sheriff" something or other, which changed the background of the computer, which I think my computer still isn't over..

The thing that's been bugging me the most: The white/background "fuzz" surrounding all the icons.

It just doesn't look normal as before.

Anyone know what to do? I've tried the whole "drop shadow" option in performance settings, but it hasn't done it.

Nahhh. Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced tab > Settings > Scroll down to make sure "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" is checked. Repeatedly click OK and you're done.

Actually.. I did a few more spyware scans, and did a restart, and it's back to normal!

I usually don't shut down my computer, just hibernate it, so I guess that's why it didn't take effect.

Thanks.:D

Is your background an html file? Try:
Desktop properties > desktop tab > web tab : is anything checked under "webpage"?
