May seem like a stupid question?

This may seem stupid but I'm going to ask anyway...

You know that the Intel Core 2 Duo's support DDR2 RAM, do you have to use that type of RAM, say could I use PC2700 with an E6600?

Thanks.

It is possible.. I thought i heard awhile ago of some newer boards supporting both ddr and ddr2.. can't remeber where i heard it though.

Yeah, I'm getting an ASRock 775DUAL-VISTA board, it supports DDR and DDR2, so I guess I can run DDR with a Core 2 Duo? Thanks!

If you are using a motherboard that supports DDR and Core 2 Duo it will work. However, you can't put DDR in DDR2 slots :D

Awesome, thank's.

It has 4 slots on the MOBO, two for DDR and two for DD2, though I can't use them both at the same time...

I just didn't know if you were asking a question or not. So I answered it either way :)
