What sounds better

I would definatly take the e6600 and just overclock it to extreme speeds easily and then you've got a go 8800gts to good with it

thats what I was thinking too. I don't see an improvement in performance high enough to justify such a higher price tag

Of course get the E6600. It totally is not worth the extra money for an Extreme processor.
