700w PSU or 520w and 250w GPU PSU

yeah but its not that.

its dedicated 520w for CPU, HDD, and Mobo on one PSU
and 250w dedicated only for GPU

it just seems cleaner and more efficient, although one PSU sounds equally appealing.

thats why i need opinions lol

that 250w is kinda weird though because it goes in a 5.25" bay and the button sticks out so i am kinda scared of hitting it. what would happen?

Well, seeing that early estimates say that the 12" x2900 uses 270watts and the consumer 9" version uses about 240watts. If that's true, then you are not going to be able to crossfire those cards with the 250watts graphics card PSU.

The GPU PS is if you have a power supply and do not want to totally upgrade to a new one. If you have an option to get a PS that can handle it then that is probably the best route. To me, it seems like something else to go wrong. You mathematically increase your chance of failure by 100% if you have 2 units instead of 1.
