Reformating w/ Internet Problems

My problem is pretty simple. I'm not too inclined when it comes to computers. I purchased a laptop off of eBay with an UNFORMATTED HDD. I guess the guy switched HDDs when he switched to a newer laptop? I don't know, well I installed Windows XP Service Pack 1 which I have got free from a friend until I can buy Vista(if I ever).

Now what happens is, I cannot connect to the internet. It has an internal wireless card and an Ethernet port. But ethier are responsive to anything. How can I get drivers or updated drivers for this hardware to work?

It was a NEW UNFORMATTED HDD in the laptop and I installed Windows XP SP1 on it.

Please help, I don't want my money to go to waste! Thanks!

Thanks. I successfully installed Windows XP SP2 a d HWINFO32 through an external HDD. Worked out perfect! One problem though after I ran HWINFO32, only my ethernet card showed up. No wireless card listed under anything(not even networking). What do I do now? I open the latch to check if they had one, and its there.

The internal wireless card is a:
Broadcom 94318 on a Pentium M/Centrino chipset

Any help please. Thanks!

Also, do they supposed to have a wire hooked up to just the main? Does the MAIN and AUX inputs have to be occupied? My card only has the MAIN one occupied with no other wire.

you can have just the main wire hooked to the card...

Do you have a dell? i had the same problem about 3days ago... have an old inspiron with that card in it.. if its a dell try this, the card is a 1370? right?
