which card? PCI only

Hey guys. what would be the best video card to put in a computer with only PCI slots not pci express or agp.

preferably

ATI Radeon 8500/9000/92000 family
ATI Radeon 9500/9600/9700/9800 family
ATI Radeon X300/X600/X700/X800/X850 family

or

NVIDIA

GeForce3 family
GeForce4 family
GeForce FX family
GeForce 6 family
GeForce 7 family


this question has nothing to do with my signature. completely different computers/situations/w.e.

If you're building the system then there's no reason to go with pci.. you could easily afford a pci-e motherboard. If you already bought the motherboard then.. well that would just suck. :(
 
thats sorta the point. its an older computer and i need it for a friend just for the mean time while he gets money to build a computer. its for an upgrade on an hp pc.
 
I see.. well Pci graphics cards are extremely limited.. the best two i can think of is a 6800gt and a x1300. There may be newer ones out but i'm not sure...

There's a 6800GT PCI card? As far as I know the "best" PCI card is the x1300, followed by the FX5x00 series.

First of all, most of those dont come in PCI versions. Some of the best PCI cards would be the 6200, or the x1300, depending on the price you want to spend.

The only 6xxx series as far as I know for PCI was the 6200.
 
ok

my brother has a GeForce FX5700LE. is that as good as the first two? this gpu is pretty rare because I have found it in very few places.
 
The geforce fx series was a disapointment yes, but the higher level cards didn't exactly suck.. they weren't as great as a 9800, their main competitor, but that doesn't mean they're shit. :)
