I bought some rewritable dvds and was wondering if it is possible for recorded tv to be burned to a rw-dvd and then be played in dvd player? I know regular dvds can but im not sure about rw-dvds.

Yes, it is possible to burn DVD-Video to DVD-RW's. The real question is whether your DVD player can play DVD-RW's. Good luck!

With rewritable disks they are more like hard drives then the read only type where you drag or copy and paste files to them. Unfortunately the dvd-rw(Sony) blanks here are not even detected in the dvd(also Sony) burner. Figure that one out? Yet vcd and dvd projects alike see good burns with that and the 52x24x52 cd writer installed.

It depends on what quality is te media. I have several issues with my LG burning DVD9R from Kodak and not recognising what's in it after it's done. It also depends on the burning software you're using.

Now, to answer the question of the thread starter, it is possible to burn RWs with movies. Although, the only problem is the DVD player on the TV, if it can read them. Most of them can. Mine didn't state it could read DVD-R/DVD+R and it actually worked.

You can have a good brand and still end up with bad disks at times. Where TDKs have been great for cd-r burning a brand new sealed package of 50 dvd-r blanks was found with "track data 000453xxx" whatever already on it? This was found at the same time another brand previously used regularly also saw track info already burned on it. The Sony dvd-rs have been reliable while the dvd-rws simply could not be used?

It also depends on the quality of the reader. Mine is a cheap thing and takes forever to read a single CD.

I can walk into a retail store and someone will ask while I am in the pc accessories section what is better then Memorex. I quite often hear about a sad story about that brand. A low end drive never helps either. Make sure you keep a optical drive cleaner handy as well to keep the lens clean. Dust and other debris from handling can blur that at times.
