Dell Inspiron E1705

Hey everyone I am in the process of getting a laptop for college and looking for some opinions on my choice. I have done research and I decided to stick with a 17" because I am going to only be using it mostly for typing papers, research, internet, and some gaming. I am trying to stay on a budget between $1700-2200 and I was looking at the Dell Inspiron E1705. I tried a build on what I wanted and here is what I came up with:

This is what I have decided on so far and I would like your opinions if you would change anything. I mostly play games like bf2 or Company of Heroes so I don't need a top notch Gaming Laptop because I already built my own desktop computer. Some questions that I have are:
With the LCD screen is it worth it to go to the UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife rather then the Wide Screen XGA+ TFT Display with TrueLife™(glossy)?

I was unsure about what type of wireless card to get:
Dell Wireless 1390b/g (54Mbps)
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945a/g add $29
W1500" class="opt_desc_cell">Hi-Speed: Dell Wireless 1500 Wireless-N add $49

Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N add $59



Other than that I plan on the 3 year warranty and I appologize for the long post but I would like to hear all of your guys opinions and if you have any other ideas on different computers I would appreciate to hear what you guys have to say and thanks again!

whoa! do they make 512 gpus for lappys? if they did and it had one this would be insane! just get word and as far as i know you will have one great lappy :)
 
the problem with a 512 graphics card in a laptop is the overheating. i have this same comp from dell with the Go 7600 and it works fine for games, the rest of the specs are the same as yours except a 200G hard drive. go with the best screen you can get, it is worth it. their screens are great.
 
Yeah do get WUXGA (1920 by 1200)
And get the intel proset card.... the draft N card sucks (huge incompatablility issues with even the most simple of routers)

It has nothing to do with the fact that it has 512MB of video memory, but that it's a high end card that puts out alot of heat.

I would not get a draft-N card, simply because they most likely wont work when 802.11n becomes finalized, and you would have to buy a new card. Just stick with 802.11 a/b/g (or b/g).
