Do they have methods to record how many time you've installed vista onto a computer? I have two keys for vista home premium (legal purchase) and I'm wondering how many times I can install them onto my computers at home. I have like 6 laptops that are all vista compatible.

thanks a lot

It will not activate this is illegal you buy one license for one pc unless you bought a volume license which i highly doubt what you are discussing is illegal!

ok jesus F#$King christ. I GET THAT IT'S ILLEGAL.

but I'm asking why does it WORK. If it's supposed to be ILLEGAL. Because if it's ILLEGAL why does it not affect my computers. Doesn't ILLEGAL things have some sort of protection because it's ILLEGAL.

see? I get that it's ILLEGAL.

You can install it on more then one PC (not legally), but you cant activate it more then once.

back in the xp days when you install it on more than one computer, the next time you activate it you will need to reactivate or use a new key because of the significant hardware changes when you installed it on the 2nd pc...

Vista will totally lock you out after 30days you will not be able to even use the machine without registering it with a new key. With vista the new thing now it registers it based on the hardware in their db. So if you try to activate it again with new hardware vista will kick it out and tell you no...

With XP, I just called in and told them I changed it onto a new system so they refresh my account.

So with Vista, you're telling me that if you do that, it'll disable the account on the other computer?

thanks
