It should, but it's not really an upgrade. The amps are very week on the 12v RAIL. It's probably basically the same as the original...
 
Those Powmax units blow up (literally) at around 250W. I get the feeling the Assassin line is named for what it's likely to do to your computer :D. Suffice to say I wouldn't use one if you paid me.

Why are you upgrading the current PSU? Has it failed, are you planning on adding additional hardware, etc...? What's your budget?
 
ive had multiple powmax psu's and they were being used on some older duron pcs, runnin 2 case fans a dvd drive and hd, and they lasted about 1 month, so i dont suggest powmax..
 
1st off, NEVER get a powmax PSU :) I bought a cheap powmax case that came with one, hooked it up to a 80mm fan and the PSU died. So yeah..powmax..bad..

As for the video card. How much money are you willing to shell out for it? For an AGP card, the 7800GS, x850xt or x1950pro are the best of the best.
 
NEVER pay less than $70-80 for a PSU. Generally, you get what you pay for, and you don't want a $25 PSU frying your $1000 system because you couldn't spend the extra $60
