Internet Is Unbelieveably SLOW

My internet keeps crashing and takes minutes for doing anything, like signing in onto this site!

its nothing to do with the broadband that i am on because it worked like a week ago just fine. Maybe a virus has infected it or something i dnt no, can someone help?

There's several things you need to tell us first.

Your DSL modem, is all the lights on solid? Look for POWER, CABLE or DSL light. If it isn't solid, that's part of your problem. If it is solid, the light that is... then the computer may have some problems itself.

Is it running slow? Your PC?

Does it take a long time to do something, anything?

sorry about wait, yes the light is solid, it used to run fine too and on the ps2 online it works fine, its just when im on the computer now it runs awfully slow, it takes minutes for pages to load, sometimes crashes while online too. Im currently on safemode because i cba with it anymore, when im offline my computer isnt that slow but online its well slow, it cant even play youtube videos without crashing every 5 secs!

do you have time warner road runner cable with digital phone and do you live in southern california? me and all of my friends here in the valley and LA area have been having internet/phone outages and extreme slowdowns.

Mines doing the same thing ever since ie7. I think firefox is better (maybe a coincidence)

restart the router and modem, see if it helps.

As said above, try resetting the router and modem to see if that'll clear things up. When in doubt, your first hunch may be right. "Maybe a virus has infected it or something i dnt no, can someone help?" Have you tried running any anit-tools on your system?

Virus scan and download spybot serach and destroy you can get it at download.com update that scan and see if you find anything

There should be a little hole that the tip of a pencil would fit in, hold those for about 8 seconds, and the router should restart, do the same with the modem.
