Hi.. i need help big time.

First time overclocking a mobo/cpu. I've got an e4300 and the p945 mb and 1gb ddr2 533. I read through some forums and tried to overclock. went to bios changed all the voltages to max and set fsb to 266 and ddr2 to 533. the pc went off. i reset bios and tried again untill i realised the max fsb i can achieve is 235. is that correct? it runs at 2150mhz. i thought i could get higher. plz help what to do

Could you post your full system specs. Example like whats in my sig, But you don't have to include things like sound system/keyboard/mouse etc, just your hardware.

Basically, when you OC through BIOS, make sure you just slowly increase the FSB buy 5-10 mhz at a time, untill it gets to a point where it won't post, then go back to the last speed that worked, and let it load to windows and run a stress testing program to see if it's stable or not. You don't need to touch voltages at the start.

Intel C2D E4300 @ 1.8GHZ
1GB Kingmax 533 mhz ram
160 SATA Western Digital HDD
Biostar P945 Mobo
500w PSU
nVidia 7950
CPU Temp: 29c on idle
everything stock. Even in the overclocking utility that comes with the board when i hit 235mhz fsb it restarts. Could it be maybe the bios or what? If a chip gets damaged cos of being overclocked does that damage the board and/or ram aswell?

945 chipset isn't so good for overclocking C2D like 965. I think 2150mhz is normal result for you system, but I recommend to set voltages on their default values.
