laptop and desktop processors

are they the same ?! i have a dell e1705 very satisfied with it 2gigs 1.83 intel 2 duo processor 7900gs vid. 17in ultra sharpe screen all the goods lol. but i was thinking maybe if i wanted to upgrade the processor would i just search for any that would fit or are they diffrent then desktop processors ? also is it possible to upgrade my fans to a faster rpm ? so that it stays even cooler ? thanks
 
I'm sure it's possible, but it's a matter of finding fans that actually fit. Obviously, a laptop doesn't use a standard 80mm fan, nor the standard 3 pin connection :P
 
haha i c hmm well i thinkim going to look into new fans just so its nice and cool. i will post back if i find something that will work.

laptop is suppose to be portable... but with water cooling i wonder how portable it can be...

imagine a laptop with tubes running all over it... LOL:D
 
yeah no kidding lol laptop with watercooling ?? lol that would be tight as hell but.... yeah is it really a laptop then lol ? or a small desktop ? haha maybe if they came out with a new water cooling system FOR laptops i would cuz yeah i dont really have a budget ><

I believe newegg.com sells laptop core 2 duos just find out what socket you got.. go to your motherboard manufacture website to see what the fasted you can go to.

EDIT, i think that that laptop core 2 duos are represented with a "T" is before the code name.
