Linux and Windows are worlds apart for many things. As far as power management that's a Windows setting there. Linux goes on and you then have to have the drivers for video, sound, other hardwares and devices. With a swap partition you won't have the need for a large amount of ram either.
how come every time i come in here and ask a question i get some idiot who just tells me what i already know while dodging my questions. wow what a helpful place this is.
Did you know that Gentoo has a solution for the Airport wireless you have there? http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-409194.html That's a far cry from one blog seen on the Airport Extreme regarding the typical laxk of drivers available for Linux. Fortunately HP provides one page with a variety of resounces for different Linux distros. http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/
