New 7900GS not working...

I'm having issues with my new XFX 7900GS.

I plugged it in, attached the 6-ping to 4-pin power adapter, plugged it into my PCIEx16 slot and attached the DVI cable from my monitor.

Then I turned the computer on and it posted fine and was running...however there is no display. If I pull the card out and hook my monitor up using the onboard VGA it works fine, but I get no display with either connection as long as the card is installed.

I can see that the fan on the card is spinning and I can hear the computer post and start normally, I just can't see anything in the display.

What sucks is that XFX doesn't include any hardware installation instructions and troubleshooting information seems to be nonexistent.

Can anyone think of anything I might have forgotten to do?

Go to your BIOS and see what your primary graphics adapter is set to. Chances are your computer is confused by an onboard video card and the 7900GS.

There are only two options in the BIOS for the onboard video; ON and AUTO. It's supposed to automatically detect the graphics card and turn the onboard graphics off. It worked fine with my previous card (7300GT).

I even went ahead and uninstalled the onboard video drivers, but it didn't help anything (it just makes the display on my 22" widescreen suck and everything works slowly).

No, 450W with a 32A 12V Rail (15A & 17A) should be fine.

Here's something new, though, I got the card to work, but I had to use my monitor's VGA cable with a DVI adapter.

So I'm thinking maybe it's an issue with my monitor or at least the DVI port/cable from the monitor.

I haven't tried it in another computer yet, but I can't imagine that it would work with the VGA adapter if it was broken.

I suppose there might be a problem with its ability to send a digital signal, but it seems unlikely considering that it has two DVI ports.
 
Hmm, I have a XFX 7900GT and it has been working fine since I bought it. You don't really need instructions, whack it in, plug it in and power up.
