hey
i jsut got a new computer im wondering which antivirus to buy...??
is norton 2007 good??
what other spyware programs are good

thanx in advance

Nortan isn't good, Nope.

I had it, and then got rid of it.

Do you notice that your computer takes aaaaaaagggggggesss to start up with it?

A lot of pople ask the question, "Which is the best" to be fair, there isn't really an answer to it, like saying AMD or Intel, nVidea or ATI.

It's all down to opinion, the two main ones are AVG and Avast, I'd try either of them.

I use AVG and like it, I don't know about Avast. :)

The good thing about the two mentioned is they are free and are really, really good!

I've used Norton, AVG, and Avast. Norton is a four letter word, IMO - I replaced three hard drives because of Norton. Avast was okay, but I like AVG best. Its user-friendly and free.

well this sucks...I just got a new computer (comes tomorrow) with vista, and I decided I would try mcafee (I should have just said screw it and gotten nothing but the 30 day trial) but I figured I would try somethign new (I had options of norton, mcafee, or nothing).

I thought about d/l AVG when I got the computer, but decided that it would probably be better to have a full version of mcafee than a free version of AVG.

Has anyone had much experience with mcafee? Opinions? How is it when compared to AVG and norton?

Also, with mcafee, does it do a sufficient job? Does it slow your computer down very much?

THanks

McAfee is poor compared to AVG and ZoneAlarm to be honest, get the free AVG for anti-virus and ZoneAlarm for firewall ASAP if they work on Vista. They're great programs.

Not what I wanted to hear :( (although it was what I expected).

What should I do with my mcafee (costing 80 bucks)

P.S. Im pretty disappointed with myself...I usually look into anything and everything before I buy it...and the one time I dont...look what happens. I guess its a lesson learned (although $80 seems kinda expensive for a life lesson...)

Sell it to a relative you hate?
Run it over with the car?
Use the DVD as a clay pigeon?

So sorry you are out $80, that's a lot of money for anyone. But don't feel bad, I used Norton and continued to use it even after I had to replace 3 hard drives. When I started lurking in forums was when I found you can get most anything you need as freeware.

lol thanks for the ideas. It comes preinstalled doesnt it? (so theres no option for me to sell it on ebay or something...because the key is already activated?).

Also, yeah 80 bucks is a lot (especially since I'm 16 and have a car to pay for)
