512MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7600

There is no generic Geforce Go 7600 card. I assume you're trying to upgrade a laptop, correct? You will have to find the specific card made for that laptop. Sometimes you can find them on ebay.

Also, if you're simply trying to upgrade from maybe a 256MB model 7600, don't waste your money. There will be no increase in performance.

A select few laptop motherboards allow you to upgrade video cards, but those are only for laptops that have an nVidia GeForce Go series card already (fairly recent one).

Its generally not worth it upgrading a laptop graphics card, the cost is really high, I think you'd be better off getting a new laptop with more RAM, a more powerful processor and better graphics.

Thats a broad assumption. How do you know he doesnt have a high-end Core 2 Duo, with 2GB of RAM?

Oh of course. The laptop video cards i've seen are alot more expensive then desktop versions. I believe I saw a 7900GS for around $500 or more, which just isnt worth it IMO.

Its just not worth it getting a gaming laptop, I prefer to lug my computer tower to lan parties. The cost just doesn't justify the means. A laptop is supposed to be a portable computer and I doubt that laptops with high range graphics cards and CPUs can stay on long from a power socket.
