I was using an old stock EMachines my dad got me a few years ago, and of course that was upgraded with new video/sound cards, and new power supply. Recently though, its mobo would make an odd beeping sound, and the thing wouldnt power up...
So I decided it was time to build myself a brand spanking new computer, with the consultation of a good buddy of mine, who has already built several computers for himself/others.
These are the specs:
Case~NZXT Apollo ORANGE NP Orange SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Mobo~ASUS M2N-E SLI Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 500 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
Processor~AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+(65W) Windsor 2.0GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor
Memory~G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
HDD~Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
VideoCard~BFG Tech BFGR7950512GTOCE GeForce 7950GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 OC Video Card
3 Pretty Fans~APEVIA CF12SL-URED 120mm Red LED Case Fan
I also am using some existing parts, such as:
Power Supply~COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power RS-430-PMSR/P 430W Power Supply
Sound Card~Creative Sound Blaster SB0570 Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
The DVD+R/W & CD drives from the old EMachines
Now here is the Delimma:
Every time I turn on the pc, put in the new Windows CD I bought, let it do its thing, the damn thing restarts itself. At first I thought I did something wrong, didnt connect something properly, so I gave my buddy a call. He came over to inspect it, approved of all my connections, and sat down to see what the deal is. Upon reaching the BIOS, he was confused to see that there too the computer was restarting itself. He even noticed a constant blue light in the center on the front of the case flickered when this happened. Is it possible that I have a power conflict? Or maybe a hardware conflict? Any help here would be hot ^^
