Wireless Security

I often use wireless on my laptop in public places, and I would like some security to keep me protected. Is there any freeware that is reccomended?

i believe that wireless security is just down to the encryption type of the network, and this is normally set up by the provider (or device that is letting you connect to it)

Other than this, i guess the only think you can do is get sone firewall and antivirus software.

firewall: zone alarm
antivirus: AVG antivirus

Alright that's all I needed to know. I mean I sometimes notice a source where I can connect (and I'm not saying I do) not provided by the building I am in. These are often unsecured and such. I was assuming that people could connect through me as well. I have a firewall and antivirus and the whole "sha-bang". If I am protected then, I'm all set :)
