I need to format my pc, i was wondering if there is a way to check when my system os was created (exact date) so that i can back up my files that i saved after my previous format. that way i don't need t oback-up alllll my files again.
thanks

Go http://www.lavalys.com/ to download Everest. I use an older version so if this latest version does not give you the install date, Google for older versions of Everest.
lol, thats gotta be the most long winded version of finding it out EVER...

alternatively you could open up a command prompt window and type in exactly this:

systeminfo | find /i "install date"

copy and paste it if you really need to

It will give you the exact date and time (down to the precise second) that the OS was installed

hi i tried typing those into cmd, and it doesn't work...like i typed in systeminfo, and all, but nothing came up, says it is not recognized
any ideas?

says not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file, i tried on my friend's pc and it works, maybe b/c i have xp home and he has xp pro?!?!
