Where do I find a barebone laptop?

Where can I find a barebone laptop with the following features:

C2D support
1Gb or 2Gb of RAM
256Mb of vid memory support

I was looking at about $600-800.

Thanx:)

BUZZ.....WRONG!!! I have already checked your site, I didn't see anything to do with a barebone laptop. Your guys website sucks, I typed in search "notebook" and got 10 products. If your gonna design a website to sell your products then at least make the search work. I will find someone else besides your wannabe Newegg, do something unique.

You will have a hard time with that, the closest I came to finding that was with a dell inspiron e1505 or the equivelent HP laptop. They wont preform spectacularly, but will offer modest performance. (keep in mind I mean AA/AF and most settings at high on newer games, for anything other than that they are great machines)

I don't post barebone laptops on the site, and we are in the process of re-designing the site...

Just so that you know - I know the site sucks... but it takes about five hours a day to create a new prosperous site.

No hard feelings!:(

I'm only interested in the barebone laptop... I will be adding the rest of the components myself, and I am interested in any supporting intel dual core processing.

How do you justify charging more for a barebones setup than what a full Core 2 Duo laptop can be purchased for?
The specs on this system is what is configured according to the manufacture.

C2D complete does cost more... sometimes not. But, again it depends on what you want to build?

How much do you want to spend?

What you charge for a case/screen and mobo is more than what Dell charges for the whole shebang... case/screen, mobo, RAM, hard drive, DVD drive, processor, etc.

What I hope to do is literally build my own laptop, not just customize it and have someone else do it for me. If these are my only options, I think my best bet would be to find parts on ebay.

For that model, I agree.

When you find a barebone for the exact price that Dell sells it, and is exactly what I quoted you please tell me.

This machine is different than a DELL - when a customer request a DELL system, they get what they pay for it, of course. There's DELL, and then there is a white box - where you can load anything up unto it that you like.

E-bay shopping is different, you will find those you may have a few re-built ones, that sort of thing.

On a final note, C2D systems are usually more expensive than the average core duo notebook, the mobo and everything involved is higher... take this unit for an example.

Have you got any that are Merom ready? Besides the Z62JM.......Pull me some specs on that, plz. It wouldn't be that hard to put a Geforce Go 7600 in that would it?

Thanx

I'd updated our site today to reflect the different models of barebones that are in stock with current prices... however, that can always change in a week or less.

As for memory ready, are you referring to upgrading the video card/adapter on the barebone? I'm not certain about your question?

yeah, a video card, the Nvidia Geforce Go 7600 or7900 is what I am hoping to put in it.

You should stay on this forum and find out what people like out of a sales website(computer supply), that may be why you are here, but I wasn't aware of that. But, yeah, keep a close eye when people talk about defective products, who knows, you could elevate to the next Compusa or Newegg.

Actually the ones available presently are with 7300 - so it wouldn't be suitable for what you are looking for in a barebone.

Thanks, I am trying. Running my business, and many other things does take up valuable time.

I will keep my ears posted to this forum... again, thanks!
