I know you can multi-task better with 4 cores but, is it better for gaming? I like to play BF2, BF2142, CoH, COD2 and AOE 3, will the Q6600 be better than the E6600?
Thanks
Thanks
Some current games are multi-threaded, but dont take full advantage of two cores. I would think that Crysis would take advantage of at least 4 cores since they claim they want it to be future proof. No, on games it will perform the same as a Core 2 Duo at the same gigahertz with the same cache. Because those games only utilize 1 core...I guess Crysis is the first game to use 2.

Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is going to be optimized for quad-cores, and its going to be a much more efficient multi-threaded game then others out now.Haha....you got wind of that, eh? That is such a rumor, no exec for the computer industry is gonna say that, look at some of the "gamers" now, still screwing with 478 P4's. He will lose a lot of money by saying that, I don't think it happened.
Anyway, I am gonna stick with the E6600, Old history=working history
thanks for reps

AFAIK, Quake 4 utilizes 2 cores with dual core cpu
