what kind of damage can "Trojan.Vxgame.z" cause?

I currently have Kaspersky Internet Security installed on my computer while also using AdAware and Spybot search and destroy. I recently downloaded a free trial of CounterSpy which found spyware the other 3 programs could not but also caught a trojan with a high warning level called TROJAN.VXGAME.Z....I have a feeling this had been on my computer for some time now and the description of this trojan from counterspy says it downloads malicious software, disables firewalls, and transmitts personal identification.

Has anybody had this on their computer before? It is now deleted but I am a little paranoid of what damage it could of done already. I am concerned about my online banking and credit card info being stolen online. Is this a real concern or am I being paranoid. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
 
oooh yay dont we all love virus's and such? i like avast! antivirus its never gone wrong before...
 
ohhh Kaspersky??? That one's really bad... It detects nothing.... The most trusted ones are these:
1. Norton Antivirus (Excellent in fact, except for the fact that it's a resource hog... but you'll be fine if you like 1BG of ram)
2. Avg Antivirus / Free edition is the same as the professional. Pro only has an adjustable update schedule.
3. Zonealarm antivirus - I'm going to quit using it, because they're going to use Kaspersky's antivirus for it...
4. Avast! Antivirus
5. Antivir Personal edition. (REALLY good, but sometimes has false detections. But only sometimes. Almost never. This is the only antivirus that detects over 80,000 viruses.)

are you sure? i have kaspersky and it is awesome, when ever i download porn it always picks up the viruses;)
 
^^^^ yeah thats wonderful, no one care about your porn. Norton is a crap ass dump of waisted resources. Fix-it utilities pro is the best, hands down. won soooo many awards.
 
Im getting a new laptop, and i dont want to go to any website before i have a good antivirus system hooked up, is avg as good as any costly antivirus software? Im all for saving a buck, but not at the expense of my computer.
