I have a desktop computer that is used by many different employees at the office. My problem is that the desktop is frequently changed to vulgar pictures that are not appropriate for the office enviroment. I am trying to lock the backround picture of my chioce but without password protecting the desktop itself due to multiple users.

Is there anyway to password proctect the picture itself? Thanks for the help.

you need software to do it i believe, i dont think there is a way in windows itself. i could be wrong, however.

deep freeze the machine it will go back to its default settings when restarted

By default settings Im assuming your talking about the windows logo default backround which we do not want. For business purposes we would preferr our company logo, which is located in our pictures file as a jpeg. Restarting the comp is not an option due to the frequency of use.

Come on people....I know theres someone out there that knows how to lock a stupid picture on their roommates computer backround. TIA.

No you build the pc to your likings and then install deepfreeze it takes a picture of the system and everytime they restart the machine it goes back to the settings and things you put on it.. Restarting shoudl not take more then 5 mins if it does maybe its time for a new pc there are programs out there to simply lock the desktop but most are kinda expensive...

Go to Start --> Run and type "gpedit.msc" without quotes. In Group Policy Editor, go to Local Computer Policy --> User Configuration --> Administrative Templates --> Control Panel --> Display There you have the setting with name "Prevent Changing Wallpaper". Enable this setting to do what you desire.

Fire the people that are doing that. It's very unprofessional.
