Need A REAL MASTER of Computers To Solve This!!!

Major problem really need help from a master of computer repairs cause this is a tough one.

I recently installed vista and had difficulty with my ati card trying to get the drivers on without the card in. Anyway was tackling this issue and my computer has just gone out of it. The main issues are:

I can't reboot because the DVD won't read any disk after pressing F8 all i can get at best is a message saying 'Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key'. Everything is in place and selection is correct so???

Secondly if i go on to face vista I get the menu asking for safe mode or normal and I have tried both ways. In anything other then normal mode the loading bar comes up for vista and then the screen goes blank and the computer restarts. In normal mode the same happens but the computer doesn't restart just keeps going and till I turn it off.

Also i get lots of different errors on the startup screen most recently unknown bios error =DE92 couldn't find it on any website so not sure what that means, i get checksum errors (CMOS checksum bad) and (CMOS date/time not set) but randomly like sometimes i get them when i turn the computer on sometimes not.

Finally my monitor doesn't turn on most times. If I start the computer first time its fine but if i restart it the monitor won't come back on. I have to leave the computer off for around 5-10mins then turn it back on everytime the computer restarts.
I really don't know what to do because of the inability to re-boot from my dvd player.

HELP ME PLEASE.

If its hardware i have a warrenty but would prefer to fix it if i can or at least isolate the problem to a certain part i.e. hard drive or something rather then sending whole computer.
 
Im not the best with computers but you could try to reformat the Hard drive install Windows XP then do the vista upgrade insted of the clean installation.

drivers - why would you install the drivers without the card installed. Plug that sucker in then install the drivers.

DVD - re type your problem I don't understand your grasp of english
 
I had already installed vista and was installing the ati drivers because there is a problem were if you install or run vista with an ati graphics card the blue screen of death appears. So i was trying to install the new updated drivers for vista with out the graphics card actually being in. Thats beside the point.

I can't reboot the computer because my dvd isn't pick up any cd's as i said i get an error message. And i can't get on to vista because the loading bar just goes on forever. So what are my other options.
 
Replace your motherboard battery to resolve your second problem. If you have a new computer then there is a problem with your motherboard as it has drained the battery too quickly.
 
Power off the system, unplug PSU, pop out the MoBo's CMOS battery, leave it out for 10min then pop it back in. Turn the system back on, go into BIOS, set the Floppy Drive as the 1st boot device(if available), set HDD as 2nd and CD/DVD-ROM as 3rd, leave the rest. Save and exit.

Go to your MoBo's manufacturer website and update the BIOS to the latest version. Make sure it is the exact correct version or your CMOS will be dead.
 
Pull out Power to PC
- Pop out the CMOS Battery (the battery found on mobo (Motherboard))
-Unplug everything you do not need to boot (spare hdds, sound cards, lan, etc)
- after bout 10 minutes, replace that stupid battery
- NEVER EVER set your floppy drive as 1st boot device if you dont have one (i never had one, never will, Worthless crap)
- Crimsonite, dont give bad info mate, (floppy drives cause more trouble then they help)
- Plug back in Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor (and power course)
-Turn on, let it try to boot itself (select Boot normal)
- Try safe mode if that does not work
-If boots, plug in a peice of hardware one at a time, to find your culprit
- Repost what happens
 
I don't think putting the latest ATI drivers on with-out having the card installed is really such a great idea, use the drivers that came with the MOBO or get the latest ones for your MOBO of the manufacture's web-site.
 
just reset the battery got my options back i can now run dvd's so i can reformat if necessary and i have even got through to the vista I have already installed so thanks for that.

Was just wondering how this battery could have gone "flat" I was reseting the computer alot when trying to install my graphics card and the card was going in and out of the computer is that the reason.????
 
Could be a bad battery or a bad motherboard. I know a guy that does computer repair, and he works on this lady's iMac that eats through a CMOS battery every month.

Just had that happen to my motherboard (in sig). Got it replaced and hopefully won't be having any further problems.
