Do you think this setup is worth $999 or can i get better?

If I had the choice I would get the second one, with a few exceptions. I would get the gigabyte 965P DS3, and use the extra money to get a different Power Supply because Rosewill is not a good company for PSUs.

I agree, and thank you for those lovely comments intelcrazy. Try a computer market, they have some great prices for different things there, be very wary of prices though, it can vary between different sellers.

Why not expect alot of performance? It has a E6600 and a 7950gt, i think he will be quite happy with it, considering it only cost $999.

I meant don't expect a lot of performance on the OC part because most "builders" of computers now day use cheap mobos , anyway don't forget to get a os if you don't have one already.

@dynoman:
no bad but rather than buying that ram i would buy a DDR2 800 aka pc2 6400 and if you aren't in a hurry i would suggest you to wait till 22 april since the prices on the core 2 duos are going down that day and you could get an e6600 for the same price you're paying for the e6400

someone suggested that if im going to get a 19" lcd with max res:1280 x 1024
that i should get the 320mb 8800gts instead of the 640mb because the 640mb was if i was going to run at a resolution higher that 1280x1024? Is that true?
Should i get the 320mb if 1280x1024 is the max res. i am going to be running at?

I'd say use the extra money for the E6600 and use the stock HSF, cause u'll be spending heaps on ur CPU or least way more than ur HSF, and ur bound to keep ur CPU for a while, just for that little bit more for now you get twice the amout of cache, 4mb compared to 2mb, and then you can always just buy ur HSF at next pay day or something. or the one after that.

Spend money on ur MAJORS first for everything else just use what u can do with for now and get better ones later, as ur MAJORS are the one u dont want to be changeing all the time as they're the expensive parts, by MAJORS i mean Mobo,FX,CPU,RAM, would be my major's they are the parts the do the most performance. and maybe ur HDD, stuff like ur HSF, DVD-rom, CASE, PSU, KEYBOARD, MOUSE are just minors and can easyerly be changed at a low cost(well low compared to ur MAJORS) and they'll do little over all performance differance on ur rig.

So if u got the E6600 and got a HSF later after u get the new HSF you'll have better overall performance than if u got the HSF now and got the E6400.
