Need help building a computer

Hey, just wondering if these are good specs for a new computer im building myself:

CPU - 3.4 ghz core duo
mobo - Intel 945
Ram - 2 gb DDR2
Hard Disk - 250 gb SATA
VGA - G-Force 256 mb pei
17" acer LCD

plus a standard mouse and keyboard for 990 dollars?

They were out for a little while before Core 2's came out, but I don't think they were ever 3.4Ghz. I think there might have been a 1.7Ghz, and he's doubling it because it's dual core... a common misinterpretation.

You could knock the monitor down to a 17" and maybe have enough for a 7800GTX.
 
Fabregas, is your first name Cesc? :P

Shadowhunter's build looks interesting, but i would get the E6300 seen as it's only a few buck more.
