Things I can do with an old laptop?

I have an old laptop with a Pentium 3 processor @ 597.4 MHz, 256 MB of RAM, Intel i440BX chipset, and a 10 GB Hard Drive. It's a custom make laptop and no company logo on it, like Dell, HP, Gateway, Apple, etc... These no OS installed on it. So I was wondering if anyone have some ideas on what I can do was this old laptop?

I would install XP and a word processor on it and use it to write papers and such if you are in college and don't have a better laptop. If you do have a nice laptop, there isn't too much you could really do other than sell it.

How about giving it to your local elementary school? Its a tax write-off and the kids could always use another computer.

You could install linux on it or use it as a comp for folding at home. (Sorry Nev, for stating the same thing...) Edit
I also agree with Kabu on giving it to someone who will get some good use out of it.

Why doesnt it work?
Maybe you just havnt burnt the image to the disk right so therefore its not booting.

What happens when you restart the lappy with the linux disk in?

i think ubuntu should work with those specs too.

If you try to boot Linux off a data CD it won't read, get a tool like DeepBurner to butn an ISO image to the CD so it will read and boot.
