Cpu/fan speed monitor

Hi, I have speedfan on my computer, but the only thing that it shows it core temp (I'm assuming core 1...idk since I have dual cores)

Anyways, my temp is usually around 37-38C. Well I was watching a movie, converting videos, and browsing the web a little bit ago and Noticed that it got up to 56C.

So I'm wondering if anyone knows any programs that'll work with vista, but yet also with my crappy dell motherboard. (So I can increase the fan speed if it gets to warm or something)

Any help would be great, thanks. (in the mean time I guess I'll keep searching)

http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html < This is made for Dell laptops, but maybe it'll work for a desktop(you are using a desktop, right?

Also, removing AMD's Cool 'n Quiet might cause the fans to run faster...or just the processor hotter because it's not under clocking :P

Nope, it didnt work (well it did, but only a few of the features did)

Do you know if someone makes the same kind of program (for dells) that is made for desktops?

Try motherboard monitor, google it and see if it supports your motherboard, chances are that it does because it supports a wide range. If not try speedfan. I'm running Vista Ultimate and it works perfectly. :D

Well make sure not to use a program that is not for your motherboard. I tried MSI's Pc Alert on my PCCHIPS mobo and it said my cpu temp. was 200 degrees celcius!

You may need to get a heatsink/fan that supports variable rpm if you dont have one
