I dont really get you. If you are talking about the forgetten password of your account, get into other account and then go to Control panel > User Account > Click your name > And make essential changes.

...i can see that ya don't :D , i formatted my hard drive and installed win xp as mentioned....somewhere along the line i entered a password and now when windows boots up it will ask me for a log on password (which i have forgotten) and that is where i am stuck...i cannot go any farther then that screen.....

oh you meant the admin password you put in when you're setting it up.men how could you forget that. there are many tools for password recovery (for local accounts) on the internet you just have to google them.
in my case i don't have to worry because i downloaded an XP disc (something related to egyptian-hack) and it has a bunch of tools on it including the one to remove the admin password.

thanks for the reply, however, at 3am, i am not the sharpest tack in the bunch!...i am still stuck..i was able to delete all passwords (i think) with some "tools" i downloaded ;) but, those have not allowed me to enter in a new password ...i still get the logon request box but, not much else...pm me if you have some other "alternatives"..:D

well if you don't get any utilities online that helps, i suggest you back up and format and this time keep note of al passwords.

EDIT; just got past the ntldr problem, now the reformat!
