I have a custom pc built by my friend and I and it is running a Athlon 2400 XP, Asus Geforce 6600, 2x512 kingstom ram(dual channel), sound blaster audigy. I mostly use it for WoW, CS, CSS, WC3, and the games run fine, but i ocassionally play BF2 and it can get choppy and i was thinking of adding another 512mb and i think its around $40-50 and i was wondering if it's worth buying or just waiting and saving for a new PC. I know the difference between upgrading and buying a new pc is huge. I guess what it comes down to is how long do you think my computer can last till it will be obsolete.

It's already obsolete lol, even if you add more ram won't help cuz is a graphic/cpu problem most likely.

I would say around 2 months max, because the 8600 geforce are being released pretty soon

yeah maybe you could get another gig?

Battlefield 2 would realy enjoy 2Gb of ram,Especialy when your playing on big maps.

As mentioned, your gfx card is most likely the problem. Just start saving up for a new pc.

Also, computers are obsolete within a few months of being made (if that).

If you have the money, you could always upgrade both your RAM and your video card. Obviously, the more you have, the better.

it wouldnt be worth upgrading to a new vid card too with that processor.

best saving for a new build realy,The only thing i think it would be is ram.
