Can an AGP graphics card fit into a PCI-E slot? The reason I'm asking is because i was looking for the original drivers for my Radeon 9550 and i found the installation leaflet. It said that you needed either a PCI-E slot or an AGP slot in order to install it!!

EDIT: It's an AGP 8X graphics card.;)

No it can't, they are completely different and can not be used in the same slot.

No I didn't think so, i just wondered why it said it could be put in a pci-e slot.:)

Yeah in my user manual for my graphics card it said to "plug my card into the slot, AGP or PCI-E." But thats probably because the same manual is distributed between both the types of cards that Nvidia produces. So it has to have a reference to both.

Yup, that's why, that saves an amazing amount of time and money.

Gee no offence man, this should be enshrine in http://www.rinkworks.com/stupid/ . Why would they take the trouble of making another slot with another name? I would understand if you mix up a AGP 1X slot with an AGP 8X slot because they are so similiar except for the little divider inside the slot, but PCI-E slots are so different.
