Hello me and my friend were building a computer and we connect everything possible, but it just seems that when we turn on the computer the monitor is just black. The monitor starts from saying no signal before we turn on the computer to where after we turn on our computer it disappears but nothing shows. Help?

bad video card? if you have another video card put that one in and test it. the moment you put your monitor cable into the card the no signal should go away. if onboard the card may be bad too. did you conncet everything right? is the cables secure? is your video card the type that needs a connector from the floppy drive? is it a new video card or old one

The PSU runs, case fan runs, and my CPU fan runs and my HDD light turn on in the front. I don't know whats wrong. THe only problem I have is nothings showing up on the monitor.

Graphic card is VGA EVGA 7950GT KO 512-P2-N637-AR R
My mobo is MSI P6N SLI Platinum
And I know nothing is wrong with my graphics card because the VGA fan works and spins.

that doesnt mean that the card works. get another card and put it on, or put the card on another mobo. any beeps? is the slot bad?

We don't have another card, we can't put it on another Mobo cause it doesn't fit, and no beeps. I wouldn't know if the slots bad cause we just got the parts today.

Is removing the CMOS battery do anything there is a red button do we press that?

no removing the cmos battery just resets the BIOS information, but since you cant even see the screen everythings probably just set to default. what type of slot does the card use? ISA PCI PCI-E AGP ect?

is this your ONLY computer? and if you or your friend has another computer, get that card out try it then put it back in

and is the cable connecting to the computer and monitor good? is it missing any needle things when you take it out? does it beep like loading when turned on? does the floppy drive test go on?

LOL: is the contrast/brightness turned off or low?

I doubt the monitor is bad since I tried it on 3 different ones.

I'm pretty sure the cable from the computer and the monitor is good since the signal says it's connected, but no image is displayed.

There is no beeping when the computer is being turned on.

We don't have a floppy drive.

There is NOTHING wrong with the contrast/brightness. If there is imma kill myself.

Did you plug in the extra power connector for the video card?
Did you plug in the extra 4 pin power connector to your motherboard, or does your motherboard take a 24 pin connector (20 + 4)?

Could be a power issue, make sure the 6-pin PCI-E connector is plugged in from the PSU to the video card, and that you are using the 24-Pin ATX connector and that the 4/8-pin CPU connector is plugged into the motherboard.
