networking problem :P

- I have two computers running WinXP Pro.
- Y can see X and can access his files
- Printer is conected to Y
- X can see Y but can't access his files
- X can't access the shared printer

- Both comps are connected to a DLink Ethernet Switch, both of which are sharing a DSL connection (which works fine on both)

I can feel that the problem is on comp Y because X is brand new :O I may have disabled certain services so if you can list required services, that'd be grand.

Try reinstalling File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.

Check your Windows firewall (maybe turn it off to test) and also look to see if your router has a firewall.

If you haven't done so, try rebooting all machines on the network , including the router.

Resinstalled the file sharing protocal, disabled windows firewall and rebooted everything but to no avail
