Celeron Or Pentium?

I have a socket 478 MOBO. It has a 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 Prescott (i think its a prescott) and a socket 478 2.93Ghz celeron. which one is faster? I know that celeron is worser but does the 130Mhz help it go faster than the pentium? and which is better to overclock?

it HAS thermal compound (thank god)

What is the Cache on them? I heard that the Celeron is a more efficient OC'er and will OC pretty good, I know of someone taking a Celeron, like that, to 3.5 or something like that.

Why do you constantly post in the Desktop Computer sections, use the categories.

The 2.8 P4 NORTHWOOD will win over the Celeron. It will overclock past 3GHz easily if you have a better cooler than stock.

The Pentium 4 2.8Ghz would be much better, even if it was a P4 2.6 it would still be better overall.

How much differance?

How much differance would there be between a 2.93 Celeron and lets say a 2.8 or 3.0 pentuim. I know the fsb on the celeron is 533 and on the pentuim it is 800. Would the speed increase be very noticable?

Not trying to hijack the tread but just trying to understand if I should replace my processer or just overclock it

Its a no-brainer man Celeron is designed to be a budget chip so ANY chip from the same family would beat it. It would when compared to chips from the same generation have a lower FSB and smaller cache. So I wouldn't touch a celeron with a ten foot pole!
