Ok I have winxp and my computer keeps crashing, if I am on it or not. It just shuts down and doesn't turn back on. I have to manualy do it. I don't get any kind of error message ao anything any help would be great....please

Why do you want to know how many watts his power supply is rated for, without knowing any of his hardware specs?

My first impression would be that the CPU is overheating. If you could post the specs of your computer, it would help us out.

because i was runing a 250w power supply and my box kept crashing. i was drawing to much current and the box would just shut off wether i was there or not, or even idleing.

If he said he had a 450W power supply, what would you say then?

My point is, you cant determine if his PSU is under powering his system when you dont know what kind of system he has. It could be an old P3 with integrated everything, or a new dual-core system with a dedicated video card.

Keed to know more about the computer, like said above it could be a 4 year old one thats never been opened and has nothing wrong but its (full) of dust and over heating or 2 months old and a hardware problem. Or anywhere in between.

and your point is stupid. the first step in trouble shooting is asking questions. and thats what i did. i had some problems that were simalar to that he described. if he did say 450w+ i would then have asked if he could see dust in the vents.
