What's going on .... just transferred everything from XP to vista using laplink pc mover... when trying to open FSX i get this error

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe

The application has failed to start because its side- by- side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail"

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

That information was found in the event view. Any ideas

I would try deleting all the info associated with FSX after uninstalling it (stuff in My Documents and whatnot that the game puts there). They try installing it again.

The issue has FINALLY been resolved! I phoned MS support toll free # who transferred me to FSX support (both of whom we're presumeably Indian, OF COURSE) but that's no problem lol. The man from the second tech support, thru online, shared control of my mouse and downloaded i believe a C++ update, which then fixed the problem. I'm getting great frame rates with my \build below, even with my old X700PRO. Imagine what it'll be once i upgrade to my 8800GTS or GTX soon!!
