How much is 2 much oc

I have an AMD athlon 3000+and I oced it up 5 MHz and its on 205 MHz now How do I know if its stable? and How do I know when enough is enough?

unstable: freezes, restarts, blue death screens, random shutdowns/restarts, high idle/running temperatures.

enough is enough: until you think you have enough, with good cooling, case fans, thermal compound, you can press you're CPU to the max, just keep a lookout on those temps.


you may need to up the CPU voltage too, not too much, just enough to keep it running stablely

Enough is enough. When you are satisfied with performance. Some people just want a slight performance boost, and others want to say they've overclocked their processor to the extreme, using all sorts of exotic cooling. What are your goals with overclocking?

Maybe you should make another thread instead of hijacking off someone else's in the future. But with the hardware you have, you could expect maybe a 25% oc, maybe more.

So.. 2930*.25=732.5mhz
2930+732.5= 3662.5 mhz.
So 3.6-3.7
That's my guess.
