CPU questions(Core2duo and Pentioum D)

Hi,

How do I know if my motherboard will take a Core 2 Duo? At the moment it is running a pentium D but i would like to update it as its causing problems with my Motu(causing it to crackle etc).

Is there any software(like the crucial RAM checker) that can check my Motherboard compatibility etc?

It was the top link (the one witht eh 2 ram slots not the bottom)

Can you recommened any good motherboards that can run Core 2 Duo(not to expensive lol)

Mine works great... it also supports quad core if you want to upgrade in the future. For its features, I dont think its too expensive. Not sure how you think though...

Hi,

Yeah that looks great! (the trouble is trying to find one in the Uk lol) what stuff does it have. Does it have all the stuff my Mobo has(and im guessing more) it needs to have AGP X8 as ive just bought a new graphics card lol

One decent motherboard is the ASRock Dual-VSTA, it supports the Core 2 Duo, as well as a PCI-E x16 or an AGP video card.
