best graphics card

hi,

just out of interest, I would like to know your opinions on what is the best graphics card that you can commercially get at the moment, regardless of money (not that I have much of it) for a desktop computer.

also I would like to hear what graphics cards you are actually using, and your opinions of them.

The best for what? see there are obscenely expensive cards but they are tailored for 3D rendering and graphic editing, for corporate work stations, they all cost WAY more than even the top of the range gaming card....

The best gaming card would be the 8800GTX and yes of course you could SLI them, but good luck powering it...

Mine is in my sig, i have an 8800GTS 320Mb, which is sort of the lower end of the same range as the 8800GTX, its for people wh cant justify £400 on a GPU, this one cost me £205 for the graphics card

yeh sorry i was talking about what the best gaming cards are..

that graphics card looks pretty mean, I cant imagine what it would be like to have a couple of them in there. is this one of those cards that support directx 10?
 
as far as i know, there are none so far...
but DX10 cards is backward compatible so the fact that there are no DX10 games available should not prevent you from getting a DX10 card...
8800GTX alone can handle most games on highest setting very well... putting them in SLI at the moment would be an overkill...
