Ok now i was lucky enough to recieve a 6800GT for free from a friend:D , because he upgraded his. i currently have a 6600 and i wanna put the 6800GT in but i cant because i dont wanna void the warranty. is there a major difference in performance between them and what's the minimum PSU i'm gonna need to run a 6800GT. i also have P4 3.2ghz with HT and 1 gb of corsair ddr ram. there wont be any bottlenecks?

you won't void the warranty by switching a card out from one to another. If you physically modified the card itself, then it would.

I think he's worried about the computer... it's probably a prebuilt, and sometimes just opening the case voids the warranty.

BTW, is it a just a regular 6600, 6600LE, or 6000GT, and what brand? A regular 6600 to a 6800GT will have a pretty noticeable performance jump, from a 6600GT not as much but still definitely noticeable.

I'd say it would be worth it, even if you void the warranty.

if theres no sticker on the case which breaks if you open it, then realy theres no way they will know that youve opened the case.

i would definatly swap it for the new card...and if for some reason your pc dies or you start to have serius problems and you need to send it back to who you purchased it off then you can just put the old card back in ;)

it sounds like you have a very even system, and it also sounds like you should be really happy with it, because its not that common for middle range systems to be evened, a common factor is bottlenecking, from psu's cpu's, gpu's, and this is usually caused by budgeting. luckily for you, your system doesnt look to have any.

well im just worried bout the psu, i think it might be 240W but im not sure

EDIT: its just a plain 6600 btw. If i remove the sticker and THEN open the case, and when i;m done put it back in one piece will i still have the warranty(i would have swapped it myself by now but my mum refuses to let me) i need a job T_T
