Huge myth!! Crysis is not at all demanding

How could people on a forum know if those are correct or not? With the exception of the game developers, no one has any idea what will and will not run well with Crysis, since it's not officially released or completed yet.

But what did they use at E3 05? You know, that huge game convention every year? They let people play it. not the whole game, but a bit of it. There what those videos of Crysis come from. (some). Did they use 8800? They wernt invented yet! but it was still DX10!

I highly doubt the demos back in '05 where DX10 demos, its entirely likely that they were simple DX9 maps with some of their newest textures on, granted it was probably a killer DX9 card they had, but still, it would never have been DX10

That's the point. It looked so good then in DX9. oh, and I think I Miss typed. I think I meant E3 O6...even so, it was before the 8800times...or was it.. in the video the guy who worked there was discussing the benefits of DX10 you see here. I'm confused...

The game wasnt running in DX10 mode, since Vista wasnt releases yet and DX10 cards werent released yet. They were running it in DX9 mode.

Hmm, well Half life 2 looked very nice when it first came out and I was so surprised at how efficiently it ran, it supported cards right back to the DX7 era. Maybe Crysis will be like that, it might have sweeping compatibility coupled with efficient resource management to maximise their target audience. :D That is very smart in my opinion. I certain hope that Crysis being demand is a myth, since I only have a 7900GT and it will lag really badly if its not a myth. :( so I guess I just have to wait and see.

Some members are speculating that It's only demanding when being played with a DX10 card (plus Vista) because of either the inefficiency of the new format, that Dx10 is simply resource heavy, or both. So if you were to play it with your 7900 gt it wouldn't lag at all cause it would be using dx9.. Of course it wouldn't look as pretty on dx9, but i'd be happy if i could play it med-high :)
