alright well, i just recently got a new hdd in my notebook and it had vista on there. but what i have noticed since i got vista is that my darn fan is Always on, at like full blast...its so annoying, when i had xp it might come on here and there no big deal, and most of the time it was quite. but now its a monster ALWAYS on. i put my hand at the vent at the side of my computer and i can feel cool cool air rushing out. and the little fan at the bottom is the one thats always on constantly.

i tried changing the power options, but doesn't do anything. if i sleep it and then bring it back on the fan will stay shut off but only for so long then back up and going full blast until the next time i turn off. i tried getting speedfan but it doesn't see my fan...

does anyone know what i can do in vista to make it shut up, besides unintally glitchy vista and going back to xp (last resort) thanx in ahead!

Sounds to me like you are missing the drivers what brand of laptop is it? The chipset drivers are probabally missing on your new install try going to your manufacturer's website and installing them again...
