Convert Power Supply 24-20 pin

If this is a 20+4 pin powersupply you don't have to plug in the four extra pins if you don't need them. But if you have one that is straight 24 pins then I don't think you can do it.

....i have ONE 20 pin socket on my motherboard....the plug coming from a power supply is ONE molded 24 pins plug...

......i see no way to "separate" that connector if that is what you are driving at......also, there is a "clip" as i am sure you are aware of that locks the ps connector in place.......
 
yes, the clip on the motherboard. look on the side of the connector, if its flat you wont beable to use it. if it has like a ridge to the end of it it can be separated

...thanks for the reply..i had to look more closely but damn, you are right!...i see the split so, all i just do is separate it and plug it in?
