Dell PC tune up

I wasn't sure where to post this question. Dell has a new feature called PC tune up which costs $5 a month. Does anyone know if it is worth getting ? It does a file clean up and defrags the harddrive once a month.

yeah you can do these things on your own anyways it'll cost you a lot less. if you have any questions about stuff like this in the future then just post here and we will be happy to help :)

Just don't worry about it. Run your antivirus and adware scans every so often, defragment once in a long while and you should be fine.

I know how to run an antivirus (I have McAfee)
I know how to run an adware scan ( I have Ad Aware)
"defragment once in a while..." This one I don't know ? What does it even mean,defragment,? Is it getting rid of unwanted stuff from one's harddrive perhaps ?If you did it manually wouldn't it take hours ?
 
to defragment means to run a windows utility (it's in Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter). It basically makes your hard drive run faster.

Hi mate to do a disk defragmentation:

My computer

The just right click on your hard drive (should be called something like
"Local Disk (C:)"

on the menu click properties

then press the tools tab

then there should be the disk defragmenter as well as the error checker
 
start menu > all programs > accessories > system tools > disk defragmenter



you can also get shootthemessenger, spybot search and destroy (spyware remover) , spywareblaster, and

load internet explorer : go to tools > internet options > and clear the cookies , files, and history every once in a while, same with using disk cleanup.
