ok so my western digital harddrive makes a clicking noise like drive heads dead but still works perfectly?.... or is it??? whats wrong wif it ... like it 'seams' to work fine ... i cant get a replacement on it yet cause its not broken .. its been like this for a while .. only happens aswell when it starts 2 get warm .. or hot .. u know but still works perfrectly.. with read and write anyways

The "Click of Death" doesn't necessarily mean that the harddrive is dead, it is an indicator that it is dying. You should backup your data and get a replacement ASAP.

It may be dying, or may just be like that. Are you running anything when noise comes up? And are you SURE its coming from the HDD?

positive its coming form the harddrive stuck my ear right next to the western digital one(all my others a seagates, I've already had 1 WD hdd die one me this would be the 2nd) unless my ears deciveing me im like 99.999999999999999999999999999% sure its that harddrive lol so unless my ears deciving me then yea its that harddrive .... so how do i kill it faster so i can get it replaced? and my datas already backed up backed it up ages ago(when it started)

and it didnt use 2 click .. so .. it tends 2 only do it wen its gets warmed up or .. u know ..

the HDD can fail anytime, in an hour, day, week, month, maybe year. just kep on backuping . get the wD datalifeguard tools...

i have the life guard tool .. but it says its fine .. which it is .. i guess .. jst makes clicking noises ... besides that .. nothing wrong wif it .. i'd still rather it die so i could get a new one ..
