Windows Media Player 9 Reinstalling problem

greetings,

Developed an unusual video problem with Media Player 9. it seems that when I attempt to play a video clip, sound is fine but, video only appears for about 1.5 seconds and dissapears. In order for me to get the video back (and that is only for the 1.5 seconds as aforementioned) I have to reload or restart by re-clicking on the video clip and it does exactly the same thing.

This is not an issue of getting suggestions to using a different Media Player or doing an upgrade by downloading.

Most likely I will have to reinstall Media Player 9. So, how do I do this without "nutsing" up my system and install it from my win xp pro sp1+2 installation operating system cd-rom?

It looks as if you don't want to use your CD. You might want to fix that before you get mad at people.

...damn, ya shot me in the foot with that one!..how i did that i don't know but, correction has been made and thanks for pointing out my typo!

im not sure about this as i don't have the installation CD in front of me to test it... but if you put in the CD while you are logged on to Windows, aren't you able to select which components to install individually?

im going by memory here so don't start shooting at me if im wrong... :D
or do i mixed it up with a restore system CD??
